Axia Orthopedics Marks Clinical Debut of SOLOFIX™ with First Surgical Cases

PORTLAND, Ore. — September 16, 2026 — Axia Orthopedics, medical device company that develops surgeon-driven provisional fixation technologies, announces first clinical use of the SOLOFIX™ Provisional Fixation System, marking the commercial launch of the company’s flagship technology for provisional fixation in fracture and arthrodesis surgery.

Dr. Anjan Shah, an orthopedic trauma surgeon at Florida Orthopaedic Institute, used SOLOFIX during two procedures at Tampa General Hospital, with support from trauma fellows Dr. Joshua Sun and Dr. Luke DiPasquale. The procedures included an open reduction and internal fixation of a bimalleolar ankle fracture and a revision correction of a pilon fracture malunion.

SOLOFIX was used to align and compress the lateral and medial ankle fractures as well as reduce and compress the lateral fibula plate. SOLOFIX applied one-sided percutaneous implant compression during the pilon revision. Its use across an acute fracture and a complex revision illustrates the range of applications the system was designed to support.

SOLOFIX is a K-wire-based provisional fixation system designed to simplify how surgeons achieve and maintain reduction and compression during fracture fixation and fusion procedures. The system applies percutaneous axial compression from one side of the surgical site and maintains that compression hands-free, reducing reliance on handheld clamps while helping preserve access and visibility during implant positioning and definitive fixation.
